The New Zealand Rugby League's bid for Wellington to host this country's second franchise in the NRL is gathering momentum.
It was to have been on the agenda tomorrow at an Australian Rugby League and NRL partnership meeting in Sydney. However, with several more pressing issues, discussion about adding a 16th team from 2006 has been moved to May.
New Zealand board member Andrew Chalmers, of Rotorua, was more than happy with that. He is chairing the Wellington bid, and he said the delay would allow more time to prepare the bid documents.
