Canterbury players have declared the send-off dead after Tyson Frizell stayed on the field following his high shot on Tim Browne in St George Illawarra's NRL win on Sunday.
Frizell hit Browne flush on the jaw with a swinging arm in the 50th minute, leaving Browne knocked out on the ANZ Stadium turf.
Referee Ben Cummins opted to put the incident on report rather than march the Dragons back-rower, who faces a two-match ban after being charged by the match review committee on Monday.
Dogs utility back Sam Perrett says he doesn't know what constitutes a send-off anymore following the incident.
The last player sent off in the NRL was Newcastle prop Kade Snowden for a hit on North Queensland's Ray Thompson in round 24, 2013.
