Sonny Bill Williams is back in the NRL.
The former All Black made his return to the NRL after six years away, playing for the Sydney Roosters against the Canberra Raiders.
The 35-year-old came onto the park in the 59th minute, and played only 13 minutes as he attempts to get his fitness back after spending significant time off the park after the Covid-19 pandemic ended his Super League season with the Toronto Wolfpack.
Williams made five runs for 23 metres and produced one offload in his short stint, while he made five tackles.
The Roosters won the 2019 grand final rematch 18-6, with a double to James Tedesco and a try to Daniel Tupou, to move into third on the ladder with three games remaining. The Raiders drop to fifth.
