The NRL has fined a Parramatta Eels player $5000 after footage emerged of him engaged in sex with a woman in a public toilet cubicle.
The four-second video circulated around social media last week, with the Eels later confirming one of their players was involved.
"We understand that those on the video have been illegally filmed by another person without consent and that an attempt has been made to distribute the video to media outlets and on social media platforms," the club said in a statement.
According to The Australian, the woman at the centre of the video is believed to be preparing to launch legal action against the person who filmed the video without her consent.
The NRL released a statement on Wednesday afternoon confirming they had issued the player with a breach notice alleging he brought the game into disrepute.
