Rugby league: NRL - Penrith Panthers' Dallin Watene-Zelezniak's brain snap costly in NRL loss to Cronulla Sharks

Kiwis captain Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has shown that he's got his brother's back.

In last night's NRL matchup between the Cronulla Sharks and the Penrith Panthers, Sharks halfback left a late shot on Malakai Watene-Zelezniak and brother Dallin was first to react with some revenge.

The tackle on Malakai was high and late, leaving Dallin fired up who shot back with his own brand of justice.

Townsend was floored leading to a melee between the two sides.

But Dallin was left to rue his brain snap as the resulting penalty proved to be the turning point which let the Sharks back into the game.

After rushing out to a 14-0 lead, the penalty against Penrith led to the Sharks scoring their first try shortly after through Bronson Xerri, eventually leading to a comeback 24-10 win.

"That brain snap I had let the team down and it won't happen again," Watene-Zelezniak told reporters after the game.

"Any penalty is a turning point but that was a big one because we had the ball. Looking back I regret it a lot. It was a brain snap and I'll work on that and make sure it doesn't happen again.

"Just the way he (Townsend) was talking and the late shot, I reacted to it poorly. I've got to learn how to control it in other ways and not make that mistake again."
