"It'll settle down, we're just about into the Christmas break and hopefully by mid-January he's back out there."
If not, new recruit Dan Sarginson could slot straight into Hurrell's position.
The Englishman, who was in Wayne Bennett's squad for the recent Four Nations tournament, arrived on the Gold Coast last week and had settled in well, Henry said.
Sarginson was due for his first run in the centres during Tuesday's training session.
"He's glad it's an overcast day today," Henry said.
"He's been out and about, enjoying the lifestyle.
"He was keen to get here which is a credit to him, given that he had a long season and Wigan played in the grand final, and he was in that Four Nations as well representing his country.
"He was keen to get a week and a half of training in before Christmas, so he's done that."
