New Zealand-born Parramatta Eels prop Peni Terepo has been stood down over an alleged alcohol-fuelled incident on a flight to Auckland on Saturday.
Terepo allegedly abused Air New Zealand staff on the flight from Tonga before being escorted off the plane by police at Auckland International Airport.
The Eels confirmed in a statement today that they were investigating the incident.
"The Parramatta Eels have been made aware of an alcohol-related incident involving Peni Terepo from the weekend in New Zealand," the statement read.
"The club has stood Peni down immediately, including this week's Round 1 game against Penrith.
