An apologetic Valentine Holmes has been dropped from this weekend's NRL Auckland Nines by Cronulla after his early morning brush with police in Brisbane.
"This is my first indiscretion of any sort and while I know it is totally unacceptable, I also know it certainly won't happen again," said rising star Holmes in a club statement.
Holmes was on Monday banned from representing Queensland for a year after breaking curfew at a Queensland Emerging Origin players' camp and getting into trouble at the weekend.
He was fined $1412 for obstructing police and causing a public nuisance at Fortitude Valley taxi rank at 4:45am on Sunday.
"I'd like to start by saying sorry to the Queensland staff, the players involved in the Origin camp and my Sharks teammates for my actions over the weekend," Holmes said.
