The Warriors are now the only team without a win in this year's NRL, after St George-Illawarra got on the board with a 25-12 away win over the Sharks.
The Dragons came out of the blocks quickly with 12 points in the opening 16 minutes after only scoring 11 first half points total so far in the season coming in to the game.
Halfback Nathan Fien says it was pleasing to start in the manner they did.
"We needed to start fast, they're a side that keeps coming, especially here at home and they did that in the second half there was a few jittery moments but tonight I guess we can put it down to our defence. We've been leaking way too many points for the first month of the competition."
The loss for the Sharks was compounded when playmaker Todd Carney needed to be helped from the field with a knee injury.
