The Warriors have confirmed their interest in former Wigan and Newcastle Knights centre George Carmont.
The 34-year-old retired at the end of the super league season, but the Warriors are hoping to tempt the Aucklander into playing one more season.
While he wouldn't be a front line player, Carmont would add depth and experience to an outside back division light on both.
"The short answer to that is yes," coach Matt Elliott said when asked if Carmont was on the club's radar.
After 94 games for Wigan over five seasons, Carmont is returning to live in Auckland regardless of whether he joins the Warriors.
