Warriors defector Bill Tupou may make his first NRL start for Canberra against North Queensland this Sunday after winger Jack Wighton was added to the Raiders mounting injury list.
Wighton had earlier in the week been optimistic of his chances of overcoming a groin injury, however Raiders captain Terry Campese told ABC radio on Friday he had been ruled out of the home clash.
Campese said Tupou and Dimitri Pelo were in contention to cover for Wighton, with coach David Furner not expected to give the final nod until the weekend.
It puts the Raiders backline in crisis mode, having already lost fullback Josh Dugan (sacked), centre Blake Ferguson (suspended), winger Sandor Earl (elbow) and winger Edrick Lee (arm).
"It's a massive blow. We're getting pretty light out there in the backs," Campese said.
