The NRL is sticking with its decision to forge ahead with the match between the Broncos and Bulldogs tonight in spite of Broncos fullback Karmichael Hunt testing positive for swine flu.
NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley says the teams should not have any fear about playing the match. He says they have received advice suggesting the players will have spent sufficient time in quarantine by kick off.
Despite being confirmed as the second member of the Queensland State of Origin side to have the H1N1 virus, Hunt will play, but teammate Antonio Winterstein is in doubt after displaying swine flu symptoms and is awaiting the results of tests.
Broncos captain Darren Lockyer says the week has been an eye opener. He says he's seen disruptions before but this is the most unusual preparation he has had.
Having cancelled training this week, the Broncos wanted the match shifted to Sunday but the NRL has refused.
