Wests Tigers have announced Mick Potter as their new NRL coach on a two-year deal.
Potter, who has been coaching in the Super League since 2007, will take over from Tim Sheens, whose 10-year reign at the joint venture ended last month when he was relieved of his duties after the side failed to make the 2012 finals.
Former Canterbury and St George fullback Potter beat candidates such as Melbourne assistant Kevin Walters.
He will walk into a club dealing with the fallout of Sheens' unpopular decision to offload Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington which resulted in a backlash from Tigers' players.
