Brisbane star Sam Thaiday is facing a two week suspension going into the NRL finals series.
The match review committee on Monday put Thaiday on a grade two dangerous throw charge for his lifting tackle on Manly prop Brent Kite during Brisbane's 18-10 win on Sunday.
Thaiday will miss two games if he enters an early guilty plea and risks missing an extra match in he contests the charge and loses.
Depending on how the finals unfold after the first week it could cost him a grand final appearance if he fronts the judiciary and loses.
The Broncos were locked in a meeting on Monday to determine whether to fight the charge or try and get it downgraded, which could free him to play against the Warriors in Saturday's second qualifying final at Suncorp Stadium.
