The NRL's year from hell just got worse today with Newcastle prop Danny Wicks charged in relation to alleged drug supply offences, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The 24-year-old was arrested this morning and taken to Belmont police station, with a second man also being questioned in relation to the same matter.
Knights chief executive Steve Burraston says Wicks has been stood down indefinitely pending the outcome of the investigation, the Telegraph said.
Wicks has played 57 first grade games, making his debut in 2006 for St George Illawarra before moving to Newcastle in 2008.
