There are no sharks in Lake Taupo, but the town could be hosting some Sharks of a different kind next year.
NRL side the Cronulla Sharks are eyeing up Taupo's Owen Delaney Park as a possible venue for future matches, RadioLIVE reported.
The club's chairman Damien Irvine visited Taupo yesterday to inspect the ground.
A $600,000 dollar deal between the Taupo District Council and the NRL club could be on the table which would see one match a season there for the next three years.
