Warriors rookie James Bell is in line to represent Scotland after being drafted into their provisional squad for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.
The former New Zealand Maori representative made his NRL debut against Cronulla two weeks ago and could find himself playing back-row for the Bravehearts.
"Both my parents are Maori but my pop on my dad's side is actually full Scottish, so he came here straight from Scotland," explained Bell.
"My family are from Taupo, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, but I was born and raised in Papakura."
Johns slams Burgess twins
Matty Johns has told the Burgess brothers not to "sook about" about recent criticism from former NRL hardman Mark 'Spud' Carroll.
Carroll reportedly upset both Tom and George after he suggested last week that the big boppers needed to shed some weight to help rediscover their best form.
Johns slammed the brothers attitude after it emerged they were both "filthy" with Carroll and said they should heed his advice.
"Don't get the shits, don't carry on, don't sook about it," Johns told Triple M. "Go down to Spud's gym and let him peel a bit of that (weight off). It might be muscle, but it doesn't matter if it's muscle or fat or whatever it is, it's weight you carry around."
Bulldogs for sale
The Bulldogs' 'fire sale' is well underway with Canterbury reportedly shopping five of their best players around to rival clubs in an effort to get under the salary cap.
According to Fox Sports, captain James Graham - who has been linked to the Warriors for much of the season - the Morris twins, Moses Mbye and Greg Eastwood are all being thrown on the open market despite being contracted for next year.
Graham is understood to be on close to $1 million for next season, the Morris boys are each due to earn above $700,000, while Mbye and Eastwood are both on $800,000.
The Dogs need to cull players to fit Kieran Foran and Aaron Woods into their roster but clubs are holding off as they look to squeeze Canterbury for the best price.
Flanagan rubbishes Bird rumours
Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has hit out at suggestions the Sharks are trying to talk Jack Bird out of joining the Brisbane Broncos.
Ahead of tonight's top-four clash with the Broncos, Flanagan rubbished reports the Sharks had been bullying the NSW Origin star since he signed with the Broncos in May.
"Let's all be really clear that Jack is going to Brisbane," said Flanagan. "There's no talk about backflips, there's no one in this organisation, that's either me or the CEO, that he's spoken to. None of that's happened."
Hill to replace Castle
World Cup CEO Andrew Hill will be responsible for sorting out the Bulldogs salary cap mess when he takes over as the club's new chief executive.
Hill will take the reins in December and replace departing Bulldogs boss Raelene Castle, once he has finished overseeing the end of year tournament, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Hill played for both Parramatta and the Western Reds before moving into various top administration roles, including a decade working as general manager at the Eels.
