The Sydney Roosters have re-signed hooker Jake Friend through to the end of the 2012 NRL season.
Friend, who will still be eligible to play Toyota Cup next year, has has been a first grade regular in 2009, though his season has been marred by off-field troubles.
The 19-year-old was suspended for two matches after being convicted of a drink driving offence, while he is also facing an assault charge following a nightclub brawl.
He joins fellow young players Mitchell Pearce, Tom Symonds, Ben Jones and Anthony Cherrington on long term contracts at the club.
