Reports out of Australia claim the Sydney Roosters are sending out an SOS NRL offer to Sonny Bill Williams for this year's NRL season.
The Daily Telegraph reports the club has met with Williams' agent Khoder Nasser in the past week, and are prepared to offer the code-hopper a lifetime contract to lure him back.
The Roosters are left with a spare $1.5 million dollars in the salary cap after the departure of Michael Jennings to Parramatta and Mitchell Pearce's likely indefinite suspension.
The Telegraph claims a contract for Williams would be a minimum two-year deal, to also lead into an eventual role as a club ambassador and mentor.
The Roosters would need to approach New Zealand Rugby management to secure his release before the Rugby Sevens at the Rio Olympics.
