South Sydney have confirmed the signing of Manly's Test second-rower Glenn Stewart on a two-year NRL deal from next season.
There had been months of speculation over whether the Sea Eagles would be able to offer Stewart a new contract under salary-cap pressure.
Souths have some room to move under the cap with the looming loss of Englishman Sam Burgess to rugby union.
Stewart, 30, has played 184 NRL matches since making his debut for Manly in 2003.
He has played in four NRL grand finals with the Sea Eagles in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2013, claiming premierships in the 2008 and 2011 seasons as well as the Clive Churchill Medal for man-of-the-match in the 2011 decider.
