South Sydney have been fined $20,000 by the NRL integrity unit following the code's investigation into Arizona incident involving John Sutton and Luke Burgess in November.
Former Rabbitohs chief executive Shane Richardson, who started a new job as the NRL's head of strategy this week, has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
NRL chief operating officer Suzanne Young made the announcement before a media throng outside Rugby League Central at Moore Park on Monday.
Young said there was no evidence Richardson knew a "satisfaction" payment had been made that led to the charges being dropped.
"I should stress that the Integrity Unit relies on the clubs to provide reliable and accurate information about any incidents involving their players," Young said.
