NRL playoffs - if the season ended today

With three rounds remaining, here's how the NRL playoffs would play out if the standings remained as they are.

As it stands the four games in the opening week of the playoffs would all be played in Sydney.

The Roosters moved into top spot with a hard-fought 18-14 win over previous leaders Souths, while the Storm missed a chance to top the table when they lost to the Sharks 17-14 yesterday.

Following a comfortable win over the Knights on Friday, the Warriors face a trip to Cronulla for their first playoff game since 2011. The Sharks won their round 16 clash at Mt Smart Stadium with a late try.

Potential playoffs schedule

Qualifying finals
1 Roosters v 4 Panthers
2 Rabbitohs v 3 Storm

Elimination finals
5 Dragons v 8 Broncos
6 Sharks v 7 Warriors

If the Warriors were to win in the opening round of the playoffs, they would face a trip to either the Rabbitohs or Melbourne for a spot in the Preliminary finals

Loser of Roosters/Panthers v winner of Dragons/Broncos
Loser of Rabbitohs/Storm v winner of Sharks/Warriors

The Warriors face the Bulldogs this weekend in their final road game of the regular season before hosting the Panthers and Raiders in the final two weeks.
