New Warriors coach Brian McClennan has approached one of rugby league's greats to help continue the development of the club's exciting young halves.
McClennan has told Radio Sport's Tony Veitch he's talked to Andrew Johns about working with them.
He says he's spoken to Johns in the past, who is very excited about the Warriors halves.
McClennan says if they were able to sort out a deal with Johns it would probably be for him to come over during pre-season.
The new coach has also spoken about rumours he wants to axe outside back Krisnan Inu.
McClennan said the onus is on Inu to prove himself after a mixed first season in Auckland.
He also hinted at using star winger Manu Vatuvei in the centres next season.
