Police are still searching for a man who may help them uncover the truth behind an alleged rugby league betting scam on a Bulldogs-Cowboys match in August.
Detectives will release CCTV footage on Thursday of a man apparently placing a bet on the round 24 NRL match between the Bulldogs and North Queensland.
The NRL kicked off its own investigation after TAB Sportsbet raised the alarm to a possible betting plunge.
It is understood a number of unusual bets were placed on the Cowboys to register a penalty goal as the first points of the match.
Some of the bets were four-figure sums.
The Bulldogs gave a away a penalty in front of their goal just after the opening kick-off, but the Cowboys opted to take a tap and score a try instead.
The man police wish to speak to is believed to have placed a bet at a hotel in the western Sydney suburb of Flemington about 1pm (AEST) on August 19, two days before the game.
He is described as being about 25-30 years old, of medium/solid build, with short dark hair and was unshaven.
He was wearing a distinctive white T-shirt featuring a rainbow print on the front.
Police say there is no information to suggest the man is involved in any criminal activity, but they believe he may be able to assist them.
Police say they have interviewed a number of people over the allegations and their investigations are continuing.
