NRL star Jarryd Hayne has reportedly been involved in an early morning incident in Sydney's Kings Cross nightclub district.
Parramatta five-eighth Hayne was allegedly head-butted by a patron at the Beach Haus nightclub, where he was celebrating a friend's birthday.
Eels chief executive Paul Osborne told The Daily Telegraph newspaper's website that Hayne had lodged a complaint with police over the incident.
"We are still investigating the matter," Osborne said.
"At this stage we believe he did nothing wrong."
Hayne was shot at in Kings Cross in 2008 after a night out in the nightclub district.
He was reported as vowing to steer clear of the area after that incident.
The Hayne incident comes ahead of fellow NRL star Benji Marshall's court date in August over a charge of assaulting a man at a McDonald's restaurant in Sydney.
