NRL Grand Final: Key moments

Action as it happened by the clock in the 2011 NRL grand final between Manly and the Warriors.

4th minute: Manly winger Will Hopoate knocks on from Warriors five-eighth James Maloney's first attacking kick, but from the scrum, a Maloney error hands possession straight back.

10th: Manly's first expansive play sees fullback Brett Stewart get on the outside, but he knocks on and turns the ball over.

11th: Warriors get first penalty of the match, two-man strip penalty against Glenn Stewart on Shaun Johnson.

14th: Warriors have two sets of six on Manly's line but cannot come up with a result thanks to excellent defence.

21st: NO TRY to Hopoate. Manly had consecutive sets on Warriors tryline, and spread the ball to the right, with Hopoate's hip touching the sideline milliseconds before he planted the ball on the tryline.

27th: Manly's George Rose on report for striking Aaron Heremaia in the head with an elbow in a nasty incident. Maloney kicks a penalty goal. 2-0 Warriors.

30th: Brett Stewart opens the scoring for Manly, snaring a beautiful inside pass from Daly Cherry-Evans. Jamie Lyon converts. 6-2 Sea Eagles.

33rd: Manly backrower Glenn Stewart stays down with an injury, before playing on.

38th: Heremaia penalised for high shot on Vic Mauro.

40th: Manly's Daly Cherry-Evans scores a try with a cheeky dummy after some brilliant lead-up work by Glenn Stewart, who produced a clever grubber for Michael Robertson. Lyon converts. 12-2.

HALFTIME - SEA EAGLES 12 WARRIORS 2

41st minute: Anthony Watmough clutches at hit chest with an apparent injury after a big collision with Sam Rapira.

45th: Manly's Steve Matai and Warrior Bill Tupou both leave the field with facial injuries after a nasty head clash.

53rd: Brilliant 45 metre kick return from Warrior Krisnan Inu, beating half a dozen players, is ruined by a turnover.

55th: Kieran Foran denied a try by video referee who rules that the Manly five-eighth knocked on when grounding the ball from his own grubber kick.

57th: Sensational try to Glenn Stewart, who benefits from a ridiculous flick pass from Hopoate to extend Manly's lead. Lyon converts 18-2 Sea Eagles.

62nd: Video referee awards try to an acrobatic Vatuvei, who avoids the sideline, after brilliant run by Maloney. Maloney misses conversion 18-6 Sea Eagles.

65th: No try to Maloney, as video referee rules a knock-on from Vatuvei while contesting a Shaun Johnson bomb.

68th: Warrior Elijah Taylor busts through soft tackle from Matai, and crosses in the corner. Maloney conversion missed. 18-10 Sea Eagles.

72nd: Warriors earn repeat set following brilliant work from Johnson, Vatuvei and Lewis Brown.

77th: Inu makes his fourth error of the second half, turning possession over on own 30m line.

79th: Lyon breaks through out wide, securing the win and Manly's eighth premiership. Michael Robertson converts. 24-10.
