Steve Price likes records and can break more now he has re-signed with the Warriors for another year.
The 35-year-old is the NRL's oldest player and his total of 304 first-grade games is the most of any active player.
If he stays injury-free and the Warriors make the playoffs, he can eclipse Steve Menzies' and Terry Lamb's record of 349 first-grade games.
Price yesterday signed a one-year extension with the Warriors, meaning he will suit up for his 17th season in the competition.
Age has not blunted his powers and he is still one of the game's best front-rowers. Last week he was named in a 25-man Queensland State of Origin squad and tonight he is expected to be named in the Kangaroos side to face the Kiwis in Friday's Anzac test.
He averages 167.4m a game this season, more than 20m better than the next best front-rower Petero Civoniceva (146.3m). Last week against Melbourne topped the 200m mark.
"Regardless of his age, Steve is right up there with the top players in the game," Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah said.
"His leadership at the club both on and off the field makes him the best captain in the NRL. We are delighted to sign him for another year."
The Warriors are mindful that round 13 is approaching, the time when rival clubs can register new signings with the NRL.
They are hopeful of adding hooker Ian Henderson to the list of players who have re-signed and are also understood to be in negotiations with halfback Aaron Heremaia.
The Warriors have a host of options in the halves this year but many of them, including Nathan Fien, Stacey Jones, Liam Foran and Isaac John, are off contract.
