NRL: Dwyer can't be too fiery against Dragons

SYDNEY - Wests Tigers forward Simon Dwyer will be skating on thin ice in Saturday's NRL finals blockbuster against St George Illawarra after entering an early guilty plea to a high tackle charge.

Dwyer will take 56 carry-over points into the ANZ Stadium preliminary final following a grade one careless high tackle charge on Canberra's Joe Picker.

The charge came a week after he avoided any action over a tackle which left Sydney Roosters forward Jared WaereaHargreaves concussed.

While Dwyer is free to play this week, any charge arising out of the clash with the Dragons would endanger the hard-hitting benchman's involvement in the grand final if the Tigers win.

Meanwhile, Raiders prop Scott Logan will miss the first week of his new career as captain-coach of Wollongong side Collegians.

Logan has entered the early plea to a grade four careless high tackle charge for a shot on Tigers lock Chris Heighington.
