The Bulldogs know the force will have to be with them if they are to avoid the dark side of a premature end to their NRL season.
The Bulldogs have only a slim chance of qualifying for the top eight and need a miracle run of results to earn a place in the playoffs. They will at least have Darth Vader in their corner.
The club have adopted a Star Wars theme for their last regular-season match, to promote the release of the complete Star Wars collection on Blu-ray disc, and Darth Vader has been a regular at training all week.
The players will also wear Star Wars-themed jerseys for the match, characters from Star Wars will form a guard of honour as the players run out, Darth Vader will have a special video message for fans and rumours have also circulated the Bulldogs Belles cheerleaders will dress as Princess Leia.
The match also doubles as captain Andrew Ryan's last in a 12-year career with the club.
