It appears Hollywood star and South Sydney Rabbitohs owner Russell Crowe has suffered a serious case of foot in mouth.
Reports across the Tasman claim NRL auditor Ian Schubert is set to prevent the realisation of Souths' $1.8 million contract with Greg Inglis, penned after his shock walkout on the Broncos earlier this month.
Crowe boasted on US television that Inglis had been secured for three years on a deal worth "roughly about $1.8 million".
That figure ridicules Souths' attempt to have Inglis squeezed under next year's salary cap on a base salary of only $190,000.
It is now highly unlikely the NRL will allow the deal to go ahead.
