NRL: Carney to begin comeback today

Todd Carney will begin his comeback to rugby league by training with the Roosters today.

The star five eighth is undergoing treatment and counselling for alcohol problems, after an incident last month when he broke his promise not to drink.

The club has consulted internal experts who say Carney is making progress and should be allowed back with the team.

There's no indication when he'll be back playing, which needs to be cleared by the NRL.
