Canberra are standing by Sandor Earl in the face of allegations the winger was treated with peptides in 2011. He is under investigation by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority.
He was named by the Nine Network on Thursday as being probed following claims he was treated with peptides at aclinic in Cabramatta in Sydney's southwest while playing for the Panthers.
The 23-year-old is considering taking legal action after being named.
"I was shocked at the allegations raised [on Thursday] night and I absolutely deny any wrongdoing," Earl said in a statement.
"My solicitors have already begun investigating defamation procedures."
