Canberra are standing by Sandor Earl in the face of allegations the winger was treated with peptides in 2011. He is under investigation by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority.
He was named by the Nine Network on Thursday as being probed following claims he was treated with peptides at a clinic in Cabramatta in Sydney's southwest while playing for the Panthers.
The 23-year-old is considering taking legal action after being named.
"I was shocked at the allegations raised [on Thursday] night and I absolutely deny any wrongdoing," Earl said in a statement.
"My solicitors have already begun investigating defamation procedures."
