After a tumultuous week for the NRL club, there has been some good news at Canterbury with a new two-year contract signed off on - but it doesn't belong to coach Des Hasler.
Just days after the two-time premiership-winning coach avoided the axe, the Bulldogs on Monday shored up their forward stocks by re-signing hitman Greg Eastwood until the end of 2018.
"With his hard running and impressive skills Greg has a real ability to break open a game," Canterbury CEO Raelene Castle said of Eastwood, who will be 31 by the time his deal expires.
"He's an asset to our playing squad, a great family and provides a steadying influence around the club."
The contract extension of Eastwood means the Bulldogs will be able to field the same starting forward pack that were knocked out in the first week of this year's finals series.
