Melbourne officials are confident winger Sisa Waqa was not seriously injured in the ugly incident which saw him leave Friday night's NRL finals loss to South Sydney in a neck brace on the back of a medicab.
Waqa returned home to Melbourne ahead of the remainder of the Storm squad, having been cleared of any fractures in CT scans taken late Friday night.
He was sporting a neck brace as he made his way back to the Victorian capital and will have MRI scans late today.
The Storm's medical officials instituted both measures as precautionary moves.
Waqa landed on his head after having his legs taken out from under him by opposite Dylan Farrell as he went up to take a kick late in Melbourne's 20-10 loss to the Rabbitohs.
