Sydney Roosters star Mitchell Pearce faces a possible six-match suspension and $A50,000 fine after arriving back in Sydney from a Thai rehabilitation clinic.
Pearce will know his fate this week when the Roosters board meets.
Upon his return to Australia, Pearce apologised for his behaviour and declared: "I totally humiliated myself."
Pearce, 26, spent a month in the northern Thailand facility after a drunken Australia Day incident when he was filmed simulating a sex act with a dog.
Upon his return, he was greeted by his mother Terri and father Wayne, a former Test player, and Roosters chief executive John Lee.
