Manly's NRL title defence looks in tatters eight games into the season after crashing to a 22-8 home defeat to last year's runners up Melbourne.
The Storm ran in four tries to two to lift to 5th on the ladder with Manly third from bottom with just two wins and six losses.
Storm captain Cameron Smith says their defence was outstanding. He says it has been the cornerstone of their game this season. He also believes his team';s attack flowed a lot better than in previous games.
Parramatta has returned to winning form with a 28-18 win over the Cowboys in Sydney.
