SYDNEY - New Zealand rugby league international Frank Pritchard has pleaded not guilty to affray, following a violent street brawl in which he and his three brothers were stabbed.
Pritchard, who plays for NRL club Penrith Panthers, was not in Liverpool local court today when his solicitor entered the plea on his behalf.
The charge relates to a brawl outside a unit at Liverpool, in Sydney's south-west, in the early hours of February 17.
Pritchard was stabbed twice in the thumb during the brawl.
His solicitor, Bassam Kazi, told the court he had been instructed to enter a plea of not guilty to one count of affray.
Pritchard is due to play in the rugby league Test against Australia at Brisbane's Suncorp stadium tomorrow.
His case has been adjourned until July 5.
Pritchard's brother Tom, who suffered a stab wound to the heart during the brawl, also faced the court today, charged with affray.
He did not enter a plea and his case was adjourned until May 18.
