Josh Hoffman's hopes of playing for the Kiwis in the Four Nations are over, with scans confirming the Brisbane fullback has torn knee ligaments.
Hoffman was widely expected to make his international debut for New Zealand after a stellar season in the NRL.
However he has been cleared of serious structural damage, which would have meant major surgery.
