Former Warriors player and NRL star Brett Seymour has denied shocking allegations of domestic violence that his wife alleges were carried out against her by the halfback.
In a harrowing interview with rugby league reporter Danny Weidler, Roseanne Seymour told of how Seymour became involved in a gambling culture, where he lost "everything" before he allegedly took out his frustrations on her physically.
However Seymour said in a written statement to Nine that he denied the allegations and did not intend to participate in a trial orchestrated by the media.
"If those allegations need to be determined they should be determined at the appropriate time in an appropriate forum," he said.
Ms Seymour, says the alleged physical assaults culminated with her ending up in hospital, in Toowoomba Queensland, covered in bruises — the result of an attack she says nearly killed her but that she also does not remember.
"I ended up on life support, I did die and was resuscitated," she told Nine News.
But when nurses asked her how it happened, she says she could not recall.
