Alex McKinnon, the wheelchair-bound former Newcastle Knights footballer, is considering legal action over the tragic tackle that ended his career.
The 23-year-old has engaged a Sydney law firm according to a Sydney Morning Herald report which says he has been advised there is a "strong potential case".
Storm player Jordan McLean was suspended for seven games for a dangerous throw which injured McKinnon in a match early last season. The potential case would be against the Storm and NRL.
The report said McKinnon would not comment, and was believed to be reluctant to take a legal route because of the massive support he had received from the rugby league world.
