Barely able to stand on two feet due to a calf injury, Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma had insult added to injury when leaving the pitch on Sunday night.
The 24-year-old was injured in a tackle during the first half of his side's 16-14 defeat at the hands of the Sydney Roosters and was unable to continue his role in the match.
The scenario is generally met by applause fans for the injured players, however a Roosters fan took the opportunity to give Nofoaluma a piece of his mind.
The Tigers winger called out the fan on Twitter, saying: "Disgraced when coming off to hear a Roosters fan in the crowd say "Nofoaluma you c***. You're a f***ing piece of s***". Hope you're satisfied!!"
The Tigers winger received the backing of Australian Rugby League Committee chairperson Peter Beattie for calling out the fan.
