The controversial shoulder change is again in the spotlight, with Sydney Roosters superstar Sonny Bill Williams facing up to four weeks on the sideline after being charged from Thursday night's NRL season opener.
In a torrid encounter won 28-8 by South Sydney, the banned tackle reared its ugly head on a number of occasions with officials even scrutinising Williams' technique during the game.
The dual international was hit with a grade-two shoulder charge on Friday for a last-minute tackle on Souths prop George Burgess.
Williams will cop a three-game ban if he takes the early guilty plea, or spend four games sidelined if he unsuccessfully fights the charge.
Rabbitohs back-rower Ben Te'o was placed on report, but not penalised, for a possible shoulder charge on Williams earlier in the game, while Roosters young gun Dylan Napa was penalised over a suspect hit.
