With play-off football now out of the equation for Mangere East, the south Auckland club have a golden chance this Saturday to finish the season off with some silverware, when they play Glenora for the Roope Rooster in the penultimate round of the regular season.
Auckland's long-standing challenge trophy is up for grabs in the Round 17 livestreamed game, which kicks off at 2.30pm with coverage from 2.00pm.
In Mangere East's way however are the formidable Glenora Bears, who have won 15 games in a row and showed no signs of slowing down in a 36-10 rout of Otahuhu last up. The Hawks meanwhile come off an impressive last-gasp victory over Mt Albert in last week's streamed game.
