League: Wanted - Bigger trophy cabinet

The power and dominance of Mt Albert in Auckland has seen them fill their trophy cabinet during the season.

This Fowlds Park club is currently the home of:

* The Roope Rooster (successfully defended 10 times).

* The Kiwi Shield (which is awarded to the club with the highest combined aggregate points among premier and premier reserve sides).

* The Rukutai Shield (winners of the premiership round-robin).

* Prop of the Year (TJ Aoese).

* Standoff of the Year (Simon Ieremia).

* The Fox Memorial Trophy (winners of the Grand Final).

* Winner of the Doug Price Medal for Player of the Grand Final (Fale Talaepa).

That's pretty impressive. In addition, Auckland Lions, the Bluey McClennan-coached team also based at Mt Albert, won the Bartercard Cup on Monday night. Not a bad effort, particularly for a central city club.
