SYDNEY - Giant Queensland forward David Taylor is set to miss the deciding State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday week after being charged with a grade-two dangerous throw.
The Rabbitohs enforcer faces four weeks on the sidelines if he takes the early guilty plea and a five-match ban if he fights the charge and loses.
Taylor was charged yesterday after the NRL match video review committee viewed footage of his lifting tackle on Brisbane's Scott Anderson in Friday night's match played in atrociously wet conditions in Perth.
Maroons coach Mal Meninga was quoted before the charge was laid questioning whether Taylor could be suspended after NSW winger Akuila Uate was let off for a lifting tackle in the lead-up to game two.
While Uate had his hands in between the legs of the tackled player, Taylor did not - but the second rower carries a heavy points loading after committing a similar and non-similar offence within the past two years.
Taylor is almost certain to fight the charge.
Roosters' Frank-Paul Nuuausala was accused of making dangerous contact with his knees, and will miss one match with a guilty plea.
