KEY POINTS:
LONDON - St Helens retained the Challenge Cup on Saturday when they thumped rank outsiders Catalan Dragons 30-8 when British rugby league's showpiece match returned to Wembley for the first time in eight years.
St Helens, 9-1 on to win despite suffering a shock 21-0 defeat to the Dragons in Perpignan two weeks ago, took a while to get on top as the teams were scoreless for the opening half hour.
James Roby eventually broke through with a try in the 33rd minute and further scores for Paul Clough, Paul Wellens and two for Ade Gardner, plus five goals for Sean Long, ensured a comfortable victory.
It was St Helens' 11th triumph in the competition and fourth in the last six years and a disappointing day for the Dragons, the first non-English club to reach the final.
