League: Smith in doubt for Kangaroos

Melbourne Storm hooker Cameron Smith is likely to miss Australia's first test match of the Tri-Nations league series against New Zealand with a corked thigh but has been cleared of serious rib damage.

The Queensland hooker was named in the Kangaroos squad for the series on Monday and was considered a certainty to be picked for his test debut against the Kiwis in Auckland on October 14.
