Warriors and Kiwis prop Sam Rapira has only an outside chance of playing in next week's Anzac test in Brisbane.
Rapira aggravated a sternum injury in the 14-all golden-point draw with Melbourne at the weekend.
Warriors doctor John Mayhew says x-rays and scans have cleared Rapira of serious damage, but he is still in a lot of pain.
He says from his experience players do not bounce back quickly from sternum injuries and it's unrealistic to think he will be available next weekend.
Meanwhile, fellow Warriors prop Evarn Tuimavave is due to have another scan on his troublesome neck to see whether he requires surgery. If he does, he will be ruled out for the remainder of the year.
However, Wade McKinnon will return for Sunday afternoon's match against the Dragons after a hamstring injury, as long as he comes through training this week.
