KEY POINTS:
BRISBANE- Young Kiwi prop Sam Rapira is determined to come away from the rugby league World Cup final in Brisbane tomorrow night with nothing left in the tank.
Rapira, 21, will make his appearance in the decider against Australia off the bench and his intentions are clear.
He is looking to head the words of skipper Nathan Cayless, whose advice to his players was to have no regrets.
"There's one game left and I just have to give it everything, no holding back," Rapira said.
"I have to do little things right and at the end of the game I want to come off knowing I gave everything."
The match will also be a chance for the New Zealand Warrior to match himself again against the two props he rates as the best in the business, club skipper Steve Price and Penrith's Petero Civoniceva.
"It's a good time to see where I am as a player, what I can improve on," he said.
"They're the best going around at the moment, so I can judge myself. Hopefully I can come out on top."
It will be the third time Rapira and Price have opposed each other in tests, and Rapira said it still felt a little strange t o see his club captain on the other side.
But that didn't meant he would be backward in putting in a hit if the chance arose.
"I'll see how the game goes," he said.
"If he happens to be in front of me and the opportunity comes up, I'll give it a go. There are no friends on the field and he'll probably to do the same to me."
Still young for a frontrower, Rapira has already racked up 10 tests and 63 first-grade appearances, playing every match of the Warriors' past two seasons.
He said the Kiwis knew they had to eliminate the errors they committed against England in last weekend's semifinal to have a chance of upsetting Australia.
But the way they didn't flag in warm and humid conditions when the Lions kept coming back at them was a positive aspect of the 32-22 win.
"We could easily have given up when they right behind us," he said.
"It was tough conditions out there, but the boys just stuck to it. They just kept going and going."
