New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) officials have described Kiwi trainer Dayne Norton's decision to squirt Great Britain centre Keith Senior with water during a brawl on Saturday night as nothing more than "a brain snap".
Senior slammed Norton's cheeky stunt during New Zealand's 34-4 win at Westpac Stadium as a "dirty, disgusting trick".
The Leeds star was jousting with opposite Steve Matai in the 10th minute when Norton - son of Kiwis assistant coach Graham Norton - squeezed a water bottle in his direction.
"I've spoken to Graham about it, though not to Dayne, and it's certainly not the type of thing we would like to see happen again," NZRL general manager Peter Cordtz confirmed.
"The game is hard and tough enough without members of team staff getting involved. It was a heat of the moment thing, a brain snap."
Great Britain did not lodge a complaint and ground managers Bryce Wakely and Kevin Bailey decided against taking action.
